Dr. Schmakel specializes in the fitting of contact lenses and will tenaciously work with a patient until complete satisfaction with vision, fit and comfort is achieved. We offer soft lenses from major brands such as: Accuvue, Biomedics, Ciba, Hydrogenics, Proclear including Toric and Bifocal lenses.

For patients requiring custom fit lenses, Dr. Schmakel works with companies such as Art Optical, SynergEyes, TruForm Opitics, Euclid, New Era and Gelflex in both hard (gas permeable) and soft lenses.

Laser Vision Correction (LASIK)
Dr. Schmakel has received advanced training in the pre-operative and post-operative care of those patients receiving Lasik vision correction working exclusively with The Lasik Center of Toledo.

Orthokeratology (Ortho-K)
For those patients looking for a non-surgical treatment to temporarily correct nearsightedness, Dr. Schmakel specializes in the fitting of Ortho-K lenses.
